Towers of the Virgin
At sunrise, this is the most beautiful panorama in Zion. If you love beautiful lights on rock walls. Station yourself directy behind the Zion Museum. You will have about ten minutes before the sun rays irradiate the summits with zo much light, that the shot get lost.
's Ochtends rijden we Zion uit en hopen, dat we onze auto meteen na de tunnel kunnen parkeren, waar de Canyon Overlook trail is van 1 uur. Hier zijn we al 2 keer eerder geweest, maar erg mooi.
Daarna komt de Many Pools Trail. Dit is een beschrijving hoe je ze vindt (een hidden gem)
Great area to explore. Park by the bathroom parking lot. On the edge of the paved lot on the left side where it turns to dirt, head down a narrow walked trail through some bush/trees. Turn left when you reach the wash and go through the tunnel under the road. Keep going up the rock climb which is easier than it looks and you’ll start seeing pools one after the other. Some won’t have water at first but the upper pools had water. The pools continue up. Views are amazing and a beautiful area. Not marked but easy to figure out once you find a few pools
Daarna stoppen we bij de Red Canyons scenic view. We kunnen hier een wandeling doen. Zie hier
Aan de overkant van de weg is een wandeling met Bryce views, maar daar gaan we vandaag ook naar toe. Vanaf hier is het 20 minuten rijden naar Bryce. Bryce Canyon ligt ongeveer 2.700 meter boven zeeniveau

5. Queens Garden Trail
Begin- en eindpunt: Sunrise Point (heen en terug via dezelfde weg)
Lengte: 2,9 kilometer (heen en terug)
Hoogteverschil: 98 meter
Duur: 1 à 2 uur
Van de trails die de canyon ingaan, is dit de minst zware. Je ziet de rotsformatie Queen Victoria aan het einde van de korte trail.
6. Navajo Loop Trail
Begin- en eindpunt: Sunset Point (loop)
Lengte: 2,2 kilometer
Hoogteverschil: 159 meter
Duur: 1 à 2 uur
Je loopt zigzaggend naar beneden, Wall Street in. Dat is een smalle canyon waarin een aantal grote Douglassparren staan. Deze mooie en zeer populaire trail komt o.a. langs de bekende rotsformatie Thor's Hammer. Het is een redelijk inspannende tocht.
